Here is a crinoid from a site that has been closed for 18 years. This was probably the best site for Pennsylvanian crinoids in North America. We recently acquired this crinoid from a major collection. The crinoid we are presenting is a rare genus. This genus was extremely difficult to find even when the site was collectible. This crinoid has beautiful color (pink) and contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. Please notice the strange zig-zag pattern of the arms. This specimen is quite large for the genus, and with just a touch of stem, is a great display item. I don't think we will ever be able to offer another specimen of this particular species. This is truly a remarkable specimen of an extremely rare Pennsylvanian crinoid.
