This is a fabulous crinoid. This particular species of Taxocrinus is extremely rare. The specimen is very 3-dimensional and has great detail. The segmentation of the stem is exceptional and the multiple branching of the arms is terrific. This specimen is huge and almost fills the squared matrix block. We have been collecting and preparing Crawfordsville crinoids for 14 years and this is perhaps the finest example of this particular species we have ever seen. This was recently acquired from a major crinoid collection, and a specimen such as this may never be available again. This is a specimen for the true crinoid connoisseur.
