Here is an excellent crinoid. This is Onychocrinus ulrichi from the famous Mississippian deposits near Crawfordsville, Indiana. This flexible crinoid is very 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibits wonderful detail. The plate structure is clearly defined and all five arms are complete to the very tips. An extremely lengthy stem is still tightly attached to the cup. The fossil has great color and contrast and is aesthetically centered on the rectangular plate of siltstone. This is a great specimen of Onychocrinus from the Mississippian sea.
