Here is a nice crinoid from a ''new'' locality. This is a large Scytalocrinus disparilis from the Mississippian beds of Southern Indiana. This site has not produced near as many crinoids as Crawfordsville, but the excellent preservation of the fossils is nearly the same. This inadunate crinoid has a small, bowl-shaped cup and long, uniserial arms. These features are wonderfully displayed on this specimen. The long pinnules of the arms can be seen and a short section of stem is still tightly attached to the cup. The crinoid has very good color and contrast and is well positioned on the natural plate of siltstone that is covered with several types of bryozoans. This is a fine example of Scytalocrinus disparilis from this recently discovered locality.
