This is a gorgeous plate of crinoids. These are Mahoumacrinus sp. from the Silurian of Morocco. There are at least FIVE large examples of this crinoid on the slab. This type of camerate crinoid has a huge cup composed of many, many stellate plates and long, multi-branching, uniserial arms. The detail of the inflated crinoids is quite nice. The beautiful plates of the cups are very apparent, and the long, pinnulated arms are extremely well defined. Almost all of the sea lilies still have long stems attached. The dark grey color of the echinoderms contrasts well with the redish-brown matrix. The 3-D crinoids are wonderfully showcased on the large plate of limestone that contains many other crinoid fragments. This is a very collectible and displayable multiple specimen of this highly ornamented crinoid from Morocco.
