Here is a wonderful multiple crinoid plate from Gilmore City, Iowa. This specimen was acquired from the Richard Busch Collection. Busch was the Preparator/Asst. Curator at the North Museum in Lancaster, PA from 1965-1992. This classic crinoid location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. The plate has three crinoids preserved (two Eretmocrinus tentor and one Aorocrinus iola). All of the crinoids are extremely detailed and beautifully displayed, with one of the Eretmocrinus preserved in the beautiful starburst position! The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are naturally showcased on the large, squared plate of limestone. This is a very displayable crinoid multiple from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting, another fine offering from the famous Busch Collection.
