This is an uncommon specimen of an unidentified Crinoid from the Mississippian of Illinois. This strange crinoid has a cup composed of large plates and an unusual cluster of arms. The plate structure is well defined and the arms are easily seen. A lengthy stem is still tightly attached to the cup of the crinoid. The fossil has nice color and contrast and is well showcased on the sculpted plate of siltstone. This is a cool and unusual crinoid from the Warsaw Formation.
