Here is a distinct crinoid from Gilmore City, Iowa. A wonderful example of Dichocrinus multiplex is preserved on the plate. The large crinoid is beautifully displayed, with the feathery arms and most of the LONG stem present, which is very unusual. The fossil echinoderm has great color and contrast and are nicely showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is a cool crinoid from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting.
