This is a very distinct US crinoid. It is a detailed Phanocrinus from Alabama. This fossil was obtained from a major crinoid collection. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional and is very well articulated. The sea lily has great detail preserved on the long arms and cup. There is also an Archimedes bryozoan on the plate. This unusual, corkscrew-shaped bryozoan is only found in the Mississippian of North America! The fossils have great natural coloration and are well showcased on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a very nice display specimen of an uncommon crinoid and Archemedes from Alabama.
