Here is one of the most displayable crinoid plates from Gilmore City, Iowa we have ever seen. The plate has FOURTEEN top quality crinoids preserved (nine Eretmocrinus tentor, four Dichocrinus multiplex, and one Circidocrinus cirrifer). The Gilmore City fauna is found in many layers - most of the layers have poor preservation and extreme crushing. This plate is very rare in that the crinoids are extremely inflated and display incredible detail! All of the crinoids are well displayed, with LONG stems present on many of the crinoids. The fossil sea lillies have nice color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the large, natural plate of limestone. This is easily one of the finest detailed multiple plates ever found at this historic crinoid locality.
