Here is a textbook crinoid from Gilmore City, Iowa. A wonderful example of Eretmocrinus tentor is preserved on the plate. This crinoid is beautifully displayed, with the LONG anal tube and a nice portion of the long stem present, which is very unusual. The fossil echinoderm has great color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the large plate of limestone that also contains a small Circidocrinus cirrifer crinoid to the left of the Eretmocrinus. This is a beautiful crinoid from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting. (The red dots are for identification.)
