Here is a really nice crinoid crown from the Mississippian of Alabama. This is Phanocrinus bellulus from the Bangor Limestone. This crinoid is 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibits very fine detail. The plate structure of the bowl-shaped cup is nicely defined. The long, uniserial arms are complete to the very small tips and display beautifully. The fossil has nice color and contrast and is well presented on the plate of limestone. This is a very pretty crinoid from the ''Deep South''.
