This is a piece of limestone with a very rare crinoid from the Upper Burlington Formation of Missouri. This is a very nice specimen of Steganocrinus pentagonus. The stem and arm attachment points are quite noticeable. This is an uncommon crinoid and highly prized by collectors. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional, and the off-white color of the crinoid contrasts nicely with the orangish-brown matrix. The fossil is well showcased on the large block of limestone. This is a very aesthetic specimen of this unusual crinoid from the Burlington Limestone.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
