This is an unusual Ordovician crinoid. There is a fine Eopatelliocrinus scyphogracilis crinoid preserved on this slab. This rare specimen was recently acquired from a major crinoid collection. The 3-dimensional crinoid on this plate is nicely articulated and has excellent detail - the unique plate structure is beautifully defined. The dark-colored crinoid contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix. The distinct sea lily is wonderfully showcased on the natural plate of shale. This is a classic Eopatelliocrinus scyphogracilis with stem from Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
