Here is a nice crinoid specimen that we recently obtained from an old collection. This is an uncommon Zeacrinites sp. from the Mississippian. This crinoid was collected many years ago in the Blastoid Beds near Millstadt, Illinois. This site has been extremely hard to collect for a number of years. This type of crinoid has MANY multi-branching, uniserial arms. This specimen is extremely inflated and has very good color and contrast. The fossil is very well showcased on the large, natural plate of limestone that is just loaded with other fossils. This is a very fine example of this distinct crinoid from the Ridenhower Formation.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
