Here is a nice crinoid that we recently acquired from a major fossil collector. It is a wonderful Eucalyptocrinus crassus from the Silurian of Indiana. The site where this specimen was found is now filled with water. This inflated crinoid has excellent detail - the plate structure of the cup is just exquisite. and the arm bars are well displayed, which is quite unusual. There is also a large section of stem still intact. The dark brown color of the fossil contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The crinoid is nicely showcased on the large plate of shale. This is a very impressive-looking specimen of Eucalyptocrinites crassus from the Waldron Shale.
