Here is a textbook specimen of a crinoid preserved in the ''starburst'' position. This fossil is from the famous Gilmore City Crinoid Quarry. A wonderful example of Eretmocrinus tentor is preserved in the middle of the plate. This crinoid is beautifully displayed with the arms in the textbook ''starburst'' position. The crinoid still has the LONG stem present, which is very unusual. The fossil echinoderm has great color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the large, natural plate of matrix that also contains a very nice Dichocrinus crinoid. This is a very attractive plate of crinoids from a classic crinoid locality.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
