Here is a spectacular crinoid that we recently acquired from a major collector. It is a complete Eucalyptocrinus crassus from the Silurian of Indiana. The site where this specimen was found is now filled with water. This fully inflated crinoid has excellent detail. The plate structure of the cup is just exquisite, and the arms are beautifully displayed. The dark color of the egg-shaped fossil contrasts wonderfully with the gray matrix. The crinoid is nicely showcased on the large, natural plate of shale. This is an outstanding specimen of Eucalyptocrinus crassus from the Waldron Shale.
