This is a great example of a rare Burlington crinoid. This large, robust calyx is Cactocrinus opusculus. This is a huge specimen that shows the plate structure very well. This fossil shows the many arm attachment points and the stem attachment point. The fossil is well centered on the rectangular matrix block that also contains other fossils. This is a very fine specimen of a rare crinoid from the Burlington Limestone.
