This is one of the best crinoids from New York that we have ever had. It is a fabulous Ichthyocrinus laevis from the Silurian of New York. This primitive Flexible crinoid is inflated and has beautifully defined plate structure. Usually, this crinoid has the arms folded in toward the top. This specimen exhibits the arms in the spread ''feeding'' position. Even the very tiny tips of the arms can be seen. A long stem is still tightly attached to the crinoid crown. The echinoderm has great color and contrast and is wonderfully showcased on the large plate of shale. This is spectacular display specimen of a rare crinoid from the Rochester Shale.
