This is an extremely unusual crinoid. It is a Lanecrinus depressus from the Mississippian of Indiana. It is highly uncommon to find this crinoid with the arms so well preserved. Most of the time, when this scarce crinoid is encountered, the arms are broken off very short or missing entirely. This specimen is extremely unusual in that the arms are wonderfully intact. A long portion of the stem is still tightly attached to the cup. The sea lily is nicely inflated and has natural color and good contrast. The fossil is well presented on the large plate of siltstone that also contains a Platyceras gastropod. This is an excellent specimen of this rare crinoid from Crawfordsville, Indiana.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
