This is a very attractive plate of Canadian crinoids. These are Cupulocrinus humilis from the Ordovician. There are at least EIGHT specimens of this crinoid on the slab. This type of crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup composed of large plates and multi-branching, uniserial arms. These crinoids exhibit fine detail - the plate structure is easily seen. The cream-colored sea lillies contrast wonderfully with the grey matrix. The fossils are beautifully presented on the large plate of dense limestone. And, best of all, the crinoids are totally natural to the piece - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable plate of Ordovician crinoids from the Great White North.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
