Here is a very nice crinoid plate that we recently acquired from a major crinoid collection. There is a wonderful, large example of Eretmocrinus tentor and nine other crinoids on the slab. This specimen is from the Mississippian of Iowa. The large Eretmocrinus are extremely 3-dimensional and exhibits superb detail. This camerate crinoid has a large, stellate-plated cup and long, stout biserial arms that display fine pinnulation. The large crinoid still has a lengthy portion of stem tightly attached. The smaller crinoids also display very well. The creamish-brown crinoids contrast wonderfully with the tan-grey matrix. The sea lillies are well showcased on the large, rectangular plate of limestone. This is a very collectible crinoid plate from one of the most famous echinoderm sites in the Midwest. (The red dots are for identification.)

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
