Here is a very uncommon crinoid from Gilmore City, Iowa. The plate has rare Gilmocrinus iowensis crinoid preserved. The crinoid is well displayed, with the LONG anal sac easily seen. The fossil echinoderm has great color and contrast and is naturally positioned on the squared plate of limestone. This is a very collectible example of a very uncommon genus, named after the locality. (The red dots are used for identification.)
