Here is a fine multiple crinoid plate from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of crinoids from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has four crinoids preserved (2 Eretmocrinus tentor and 2 Dichocrinus multiplex). The crinoids are beautifully displayed, some with stems present. The fossil echinoderms have good color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the natural plate of limestone. This is a very affordable crinoid multiple from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
