Here is a fabulous specimen of a very large flexible crinoid from Indiana. This is Onychocrinus ramulosus from the Edwardsville Formation. This specimen was found many years ago at Corey's Bluff and recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. The crinoid crown is complete to the very tips of the arms, which curl in and sort of look like chicken's feet! The specimen displays an EXTREMELY LONG, finely crenulated stem. The crinoid is very inflated and 3-D and has great color and contrast. The crinoid is well displayed on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a very collectible specimen of this rare type of Onychocrinus from this the DeRosear Collection.
