This is a fabulous specimen of Cupulocrinus humilis from the Ordovician of Canada. This crinoid exhibits extremely fine detail. The plate structure of the cup is easily seen, and the branching pattern of the long, uniserial arms is well defined. A LONG portion of the stem is present and tightly articulated with the cup. The cream-colored crinoid contrasts beautifully with the grey matrix. The sea lily is well centered on the large limestone plate. This is a textbook example of this classic Ordovician crinoid from Canada.
