This is a fabulous multiple specimen of the Devonian crinoid, Arthroacantha, from the classic Sylvania, Ohio location. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous DeRosear Collection. Although this site is famous for its Phacops trilobites, occasionally a crinoid is unearthed. These crinoids are very 3-dimensional and are replaced by golden pyrite. The detail of the arms is excellent, and the plate structure of the cup is nicely intact. All of the crinoids have long stems attached, some longer than others. Very few Arthroacantha have ever been found with this much stem preserved! Also, there is a Phacops head, a large bryozoan, and many other fossils scattered about the matrix plate. This is an extremely collectible multiple example of this ornate Devonian crinoid from the DeRosear Collection.
