Here is a beautiful multiple crinoid plate from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of crinoids from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has three fabulous crinoids preserved (2 Eretmocrinus tentor and an Aorocrinus iola). Both of the Eretmocrinus are beautifully displayed in the classic ''starburst'' position, with LONG stems present, which is extremely rare. The Aorocrinus iola is also wonderfully preserved. The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the large plate of limestone. This is a very displayable crinoid multiple from a world-class locality that is now closed to collecting. (The red dots are used for identification.)
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
