Here is a very nice multiple crinoid plate from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of crinoids from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has NINE excellent crinoids preserved (3 Eretmocrinus tentor, 4 Dichocrinus multiplex, and two RARE Culmicrinus thomasi). ALL of the crinoids are wonderfully displayed and are extremely inflated. The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the large, semi-rectangular plate of limestone. This is a very prolific crinoid multiple from an historic fossil locality. (The red dots are used for identification.)
