This is a very aesthetic US crinoid. It is a distinct Phanocrinus from Alabama. This fossil was obtained from a major crinoid collection. The crinoid is very 3-dimensional and is very well articulated. The sea lily has great detail preserved on the arms and the long stem. The crinoid has great natural coloration and is well centered on the colorful plate of matrix. This is a very nice specimen of an uncommon crinoid from Alabama.
