Here is a nice multiple crinoid plate from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of crinoids from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has four fine Eretmocrinus tentor, of which two are extremely nice. The crinoids are beautifully displayed, with stems present, which is very unusual. The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the rectangular plate of limestone. This is a top quality crinoid multiple from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
