Here is a plate of very detailed crinoids from Gilmore City, Iowa. This classic location has been closed to collecting for a number of years, ever since some drunken fool drove his car over the wall of the quarry. However, we have acquired a lot of crinoids from a local collector who had them stashed away for decades. The plate has two fine Eretmocrinus tentor (the ones to the left) and a fabulous Dichocrinus multiplex (right) preserved on the slab. The crinoids are beautifully displayed, with stems present, which is very unusual. The fossil echinoderms have great color and contrast and are naturally positioned on the oval plate of limestone. This is a very fine crinoid multiple from a classic locality that is now closed to collecting. (The red dots are used for identification.)
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
