This is a nice example of the ''nodding crinoid'', Halysiocrinus nodosus. It is presumed that the stem was anchored to the sea bottom and ran parallel to the surface of the sea floor. The crinoid crown then ''nodded'' on the end of the stem just slightly above the sea floor. This specimen is very nicely displayed on the matrix. The sea lily has good color and contrast and is nicely inflated. Also, please notice the very unusual asymmetrical pattern of the arms. This is a fine example of an uncommon ''nodding crinoid''.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
