This is a very nice crinoid/blastoid association piece from the Lower Burlington of Missouri. The unusual crinoid is a super, large specimen of Uperocrinus pyriformis (right). The crinoid is totally inflated and displays great plate structure. The rare blastoid is an inflated specimen of Schizoblastus sayi. The ambulacra are quite evident, and the paired spiracles are nicely displayed. Both of these fossils are white in color and contrast well with the orangish-brown matrix. There are also some other assorted crinoid fragments on the piece. This is a very nice double echinoderm specimen from Missouri.
