Here is a very attractive crinoid specimen from the Warsaw Formation of Illinois. There are two large examples of Dizygocrinus biturbinatus and a nice Hylodecrinus briareus on the plate. All three crinoids are very 3-dimensional and exhibit great detail. The crowns show good plate structure, and the feathery arms are very nicely defined. One Dizygocrinus has a long stem attached that curves aesthetically. The natural-colored fossils contrast wonderfully with the grey-green matrix. The crinoids are well positioned on the large plate of siltstone. This is an unusual plate with two different species of crinoids from Illinois.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
