Here is a very interesting plate of crinoids from the Mississippian of Indiana. There are three crinoids on this slab, all Platycrinites. All of the crinoids are natural to the piece - none have been added. It is very unusual to find this many crinoids of the same type in such close proximity to each other. On the left side of the plate is a detailed specimen of Platycrinites. This crinoid has a Platyceras gastropod tightly attached to the tegmen of the crinoid. In the middle of the plate is also a nice Platycrinites crinoid. This specimen also has a Platyceras attached. The third Platycrinites, near the bottom of the plate, has extremely fine detail preserved. Two of the crinoids still have a portion of the stem tightly attached. The fossils have very good color and contrast and are well presented on the large plate of siltstone that also contains many colonies of Cladochonus coral. This is a fine multiple Platycrinites plate with coral preserved.

This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
