Here is a very nice crinoid. This is Abrotocrinus unicus from the Mississippian of Indiana. This type of crinoid has a shallow, bowl-shaped cup with long, branching uniserial arms. This 3-dimensional specimen has excellent plate structure. The arms are unusually long, and a substantial section of stem is still tightly attached to the cup. The fossil has great color and contrast and is nicely positioned on the semi-rectangular plate of matrix. This is a very fine example of Abrotocrinus from Crawfordsville, Indiana.
This fossil was collected and obtained legally, and is also being sold legally.
