This is a very fine Scyphocrinites sp. crinoid from the Silurian of Morocco. This type of Camerate crinoid has a large cup composed of many, many stellate plates and long arms that branch many times - this specimen showcases the highly ornamented plates and the unique branching pattern of the arms in wonderful fashion. The grey crinoid contrasts beautifully with the redish-brown matrix. The crinoid is nicely presented on the large plate of limestone that contains MANY crinoid stems. This is an very nice specimen of this ornate crinoid from Morocco.
