This is an excellent plate of crinoids from the Warsaw Formation of Illinois. This specimen was recently acquired from a MAJOR crinoid collection. There are two beautiful examples of Eratocrinus commaticus and one fabulous specimen of Pachylocrinus aequalis on the slab. Eratocrinus is an inadunate crinoid has a small, bowl-shaped cup and multi-branching, uniserial arms. Pachylocrinus has long, biserial arms with many pinnules. All of the crinoids exhibit fine detail and have LONG portions of stem still tightly attached. The long cirri are beautifully displayed on each and every stem, which is extremely unusual. The inflated echinoderms have very good color and contrast and are well presented on the large, unbroken plate of siltstone. This is a fantastic multiple plate of crinoids from a locality that has not produced crinoids for almost a decade.
