Here is an interesting plate of echinoderms from the Burlington Formation of Missouri. The crinoid in the middle of the plate is Dorycrinus unicornis. The smooth-plated crinoid at the bottom is Platycrinites sp. Both of these crinoids exhibit the arm attachment points. All three crinoids display good plate structure. There is also THREE fine Cryptoblastus melo blastoids on the plate. The fossils have good off-white color and great contrast with the brownish-orange matrix. The echinoderms are very 3-dimensional and display well on the squared limestone block that also contains MANY other fossils. This is a very nice slab of echinoderms with three different genera represented.
