Here is a very interesting plate of crinoids from the Mississippian of Indiana. There are three different crinoids on this slab. At the top of the plate is a fine specimen of Macrocrinus mundulus. This camerate crinoid has many ''feathery'' arms preserved. A wonderful example of Dichocrinus is to the lower left the Macrocrinus. This rare crinoid has a long stem intact with many cirri preserved. To the right is a very detailed specimen of Onychocrinus ulrichi. This type of crinoid has a multi-plated base with stout arms that branch only once near the tips. The arms of this crinoid have tiny ramules that aided in the food-gathering process. This Flexible crinoid is wonderfully preserved in the classic ''arms splayed open'' position. The fossils have very good color and contrast and are well presented on the rectangular plate of siltstone. This is a fine multiple crinoid plate from Crawfordsville, Indiana.
