Here is a very nice crinoid. This is Scytalocrinus decadactylus from the Mississippian of Crawfordsville, Indiana. This type of crinoid has a small, bowl-shaped cup and long, thin, uniserial arms. This specimen exhibits these features in wonderful fashion. A long stem is tightly attached, and the arms are very well preserved and display the fine pinnules beautifully. The crinoid is well presented on the large, squared plate of limestone. This is a top quality crinoid from this classic fossil locality.
