This is a very attractive plate of Canadian crinoids. These are Porocrinus sp. and Cupulocrinus humilis from Ontario. There are three specimens of Cupulocrinus on the slab. This type of crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup composed of large plates and multi-branching, uniserial arms. These crinoids exhibit fine detail - the plate structure is easily seen. The crinoid in the center of the plate is Porocrinus, an uncommon and unusual Canadian crinoid. All of the cream-colored crinoids contrast wonderfully with the dark grey matrix. The fossils are beautifully showcased on the large, squared plate of dense limestone. And, best of all, they are totally natural to the piece - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable plate of Ordovician crinoids.
