This is a very attractive plate of Canadian crinoids. These are Cupulocrinus jewetti from the Ordovician. There are seven specimens of this crinoid on the slab. This type of crinoid has a somewhat cone-shaped cup composed of large plates and multi-branching, uniserial arms. These crinoids exhibit fine detail - the plate structure is easily seen. The cream-colored crinoids contrast wonderfully with the gray matrix. The fossils are beautifully presented on the large rectangular plate of dense limestone that also contains two partial cystoids. And, best of all, the fossils are totally natural to the slab - they have not been composited. This is a very displayable multiple plate of Ordovician crinoids.
