This is a very unusual plate of echinoderms from the Mississippian of Kentucky. The plate contains a very good specimen of Tholocrinus spinosus. The crinoid is very detailed - the individual plates are very well defined, the long, branching arms are well preserved, and the umbrella-like anal sac is quite distinct. There is also a large specimen of Pentremites tulipaformis on the plate. This beautifully preserved blastoid also exhibits very fine detail. The wide ambulacra are easily seen, and the spiracles at the top of the blastoid are quite evident - even the ''food grooves'' of the ambulacra are clearly defined. The fossils are very 3-dimensional and have great, redish brown color and contrast nicely with the grey matrix. This is a very collectible association specimen of echinoderms from Kentucky.
