Here is a spectacular crinoid that we recently acquired from an old collection. This is a beautiful Eucalyptocrinus crassus from the Silurian of Indiana. The site where this specimen was found is now closed to collecting. This fully inflated crinoid is totally free of matrix. The sea lily has excellent detail - the plate structure of the cup is just exquisite, and some of the arm supports are beautifully displayed. A long portion of the stem is intact - natural, NOT COMPOSITED! This is a very collectible example of this classic Waldron crinoid.
