Here is an excellent plate with two very pretty crinoids. This specimen is from the famous Mississippian beds near Crawfordsville, Indiana. Both crinoids are preserved in a 3-dimensional fashion and exhibit superb detail. At the top of the slab is a very nice example of Agaricocrinus splendens. This camerate crinoid shows the cup and very stout biserial arms. The fine pinnulation of the arms is beautifully displayed. The short anal sac between the arms of the crinoid is easily seen. Below this crinoid is a large specimen of Cyathocrinites multibrachiatus. This inadunate crinoid has a cone-shaped cup with nodose plates. The extremely long uniserial arms branch many, many times and are unusually complete to the tiny tips. A section of the stem is still attached to this crinoid. This is a very aesthetic plate of crinoids from Indiana.
