This is a very large Scyphocrinites sp. crinoid from the Silurian of Morocco. This type of Camerate crinoid has a large cup composed of many, many stellate plates and long arms that branch many times - this specimen showcases the highly ornamented plates and the unique branching pattern of the arms in wonderful fashion. The grey crinoid contrasts beautifully with the redish-brown matrix. The crinoid is nicely presented on the natural plate of limestone that contains many other crinoid parts. This is an extremely fine specimen of this ornate crinoid from Morocco.
