This is an unusual crinoid. It is a Dendrocrinus from Middleport, New York. This type has a large anal sac that is very reminiscent of an ear of corn. It also has a myriad of multi-branching arms - this specimen displays these branching arms beautifully. The crinoid also has a very long stem intact, which is quite unusual for this type. The crinoid is well showcased on the rectangular plate of matrix. This is a great example of this weird Silurian crinoid.
